«Publishers have praised the merits of using Twitter to canvass readers opinions quickly, after the social networking site saw a flurry of consumers addressing publishers.
Last week readers used the hashtag (a phrase inserted into a tweet and used to link tweets on one subject) #dearpublisher to speak directly to publishers. The conversations began in America but were picked up by readers, authors, bloggers and publishers in the UK. It was among Twitter’s most popular trends at the time.»
